HF Holidays promotes Chris Barnaville to commercial director
Operator reports ‘strong UK sales’ as it sets out efficiencies plan
HF Holidays has promoted Chris Barnaville to commercial director and established a new customer success vision for 2022, implementing new systems to develop a “more agile and efficient service”.
Barnaville, who joined as head of commercial in August, will help oversee the walking and activity tour operator’s new investment strategy designed to improve its guest’s direct booking and holiday experience, and “deliver excellence throughout its customers’ journey”.
The tour operator, which reported “strong UK sales” for 2022, has a new Customer Reservation System provided by travel technology platform Tigerbay, which it says will offer “a more intuitive and flexible booking journey” for customers.
It will remove a number of manual processes and allow HF Holidays to compile more in-depth reporting capabilities and insights
The operator said the new resource “will make working with travel agents more efficient” in the future and that the HF team is working on best practice for the trade with the view to launching a fresh strategy at a later date.
Barnaville said “It’s an exciting time at HF Holidays and important that as we enter into one of our busiest booking periods of the year, we provide not only our customers with the best choice and service possible, but also ensure our customer facing teams are supported with the right resources to enable quality and excellent service.”
HF Holidays is also moving its head office from Elstree to Borehamwood “nearer to better transport links and easier for team members to get to, as well as reducing costs”. The co-operative introduced a hybrid working model during Covid.
More than 1,000 new members joined HF Holidays in the last year, with an investment uplift of 8.49%, which it says makes the group the largest travel co-operative society as it moves into 2022.
