You can also find great Prime Day picks from our sibling brands: CNET, PCMag, ZDNET, and Mashable.

Prime Day was never a single day, but this year, it's somehow four days. As we roll into day three, one thing remains true: While it's the biggest online sale of the year, Prime Day can also be incredibly frustrating.

There are "deals" on countless products, but unless you do a ton of research, it's hard to figure out whether a sale price represents much of a deal at all. For some people, doing that research can be the "fun" part, replicating the experience of digging through a bargain bin at your local outlet, hoping to find something worth grabbing. But if that actually sounds like no fun to you, allow me to help: Our writers and editors are spending this week combing through all of Amazon's deals on laptops, headphones, smart home tech, kitchen appliances, and more in search of bargains actually worth paying attention to.

Below are 45 of our favorite deals so far. Keep checking back, as I'll update this post throughout the week with more of the best and biggest bargains.

A phone-shaped e-reader with a cult following

I've been personally obsessed with the Boox Palma e-reader for about two years now. It has the form factor of a phone, the screen of a Kindle, and an open Android operating system that lets you download any reading apps you want to, so you aren't tied to buying books from whichever retailer sold you the device. Carrying it with me alongside my iPhone has helped me read way more and doomscroll way less. This thing basically never goes on sale, so the current $30 discount is a relative bargain.

Amazon's color Kindle for $100 off

While I don't personally love it as much as I do the Boox Palma (or even the Boox Go Color 7, which is my personal pick for the best all-around color e-reader), Amazon's Kindle Colorsoft unquestionably offers the best image quality of any e-ink device I've tried. If you're OK with being tied into the Amazon ecosystem (and understand the drawbacks of color e-ink), it's a fantastic buy right now—$100 off the usual price, and cheaper than the regular price of the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (which is on sale for $150 right now, incidentally).

The OLED Nintendo Switch for $100 off, because who needs a Switch 2?

OK, I mean, I obviously need a Switch 2 (because Mario Kart World!), but I'm not getting one for a long while, considering I didn't even buy the original Switch until 2021. Given the vast back catalogue of first-party and indie games, you could definitely keep playing the Switch OLED (the updated model with the larger, better screen) for years to come—and at $100 off, it's a full $200 cheaper than its successor. You can also opt to get a bundle that comes with Mario Kart 8 for $25 more, which is pretty good considering you're probably buying Mario Kart 8 anyway. (This is a Woot offer, but given Amazon owns Woot, I still think it counts as a Prime Day deal.)

I've had a Meta Quest 2 for a few years, and I can best describe it as the coolest gadget I never use—gaming in VR is super fun and immersive, but it's too heavy, the video quality is a bit fuzzy, and it makes my eyes hurt if I play for longer than 15 minutes. Lots of these problems would probably be solved by the Meta Quest 3S, which is lighter, has better video quality, and is supposed to be more comfortable overall. Lifehacker's Stephen Johnson says it's a better buy than the pricier Meta Quest 3, especially at $50 off.

The Microsoft Surface Pro combination laptop and tablet

Our tech reviewer David Nield gave this two-in-one device a glowing 4.5/5 review earlier this year, praising its features, suburb build, and battery life. All the more reasons to grab one at its lowest price yet—it's $100 off, which will take you a long way toward getting a keyboard and stylus to go with it.

A MacBook Air that will last you for years

Apple may be doing too good a job with the MacBook Air lineup. I'm still rocking an M1 from 2020 and it works basically like new. I can only imagine how long I'd be able to use the new M4 MacBook Air, which now comes with 16GB of RAM standard. (Probably a lot longer than I care to contemplate in 2025.) Right now, you can get one for $150 off, making it one of our tech editor Michelle Ehrhardt's top Prime Day picks.

The AirPods Pro, because...they're the AirPods Pro, but 40% off

I probably don't have to tell you that Apple AirPods Pro are a great buy if you've got an iPhone or are otherwise in the Apple ecosystem. They regularly feature on "best wireless headphones" lists, including ours, and now you can spend a lot less to get them—they're 40% off, one of the biggest discounts I've seen on an Apple product.

The AirPods Pro Max at a price that actually makes them worth it

Lifehacker Tech Editor Jake Peterson loves his Apple AirPods Max headphones, but he'd be the first to admit that the $550 retail price is pretty steep when comparable headphones—if less stylish and Apple-friendly—can be bought for a lot less. But that's what Prime Day is for: These standout over-ear headphones have been knocked down nearly 30%, to just under $400, making them actually worth buying.

Or the AirPods 4, if you aren't made of money

In addition to Apple's most crazy expensive AirPods, Amazon has a great discount on the latest non-AirPods 4, bringing them down to $89. Granted, that's for the version without automatic noise cancellation (ANC), but it's still a great price. (AirPods tend to hold their value a long time, and rarely go on a massive sale.) I bought these for my daughter for Christmas and paid $30 more, which is incidentally what the ANC version costs now. Instead, I got to enjoy my kid going "Oh, just the regular ones? Thanks, I guess." (Just kidding, she was still mostly enthused.)

Or the Sony WF-1000XM5s, one of the best AirPods Pro alternatives

Look, maybe you don't want any AirPods at all. I get it! (I'm a Beats Fit Pro man myself.) Well, maybe consider Sony's beloved AirPods Pro competitor, the catchily named WF-1000XM5s. At $199, they're $100 off, and everyone pretty much agrees they're better than the Apple earbuds (except maybe the people who have convinced themselves that you have to buy the Apple earbuds).

A rugged 2TB External SSD

I've worked from home for so long I forgot that people carry their external hard drives around with them when they go places, and two of our on-the-go tech freelancers, David Nield and Eric Ravenscraft, recommend the Samsung T7 Portable SSD for its reliability, durability, and read/write speeds. Right now it's 40% off, taking it down to $119.

The Oura Ring 4, on sale for the first time ever

I'm not really a fitness wearable type of person—if I've ever recorded a non-walking workout on my Apple Watch, it was probably an accident—but Lifehacker Health Editor Beth Skwarecki swears by 'em and is well-versed in the space. She has been wearing an Oura Ring for more than four years, so I trust her judgement when she says the Prime Day deal on the new-ish Oura Ring 4 is worth paying attention to. It's just 15% off, true—but it's also the first time the device has ever gone on sale, so If you've been waiting, now is the time.

The best Apple Watch for most people

Maybe you're not a ring person, or aren't crazy about the Oura Ring's subscription costs. No worries—that's why Apple gave us the Apple Watch, the fitness tracker/smartwatch for the rest of us. You can now grab the latest Apple Watch Series 10—the best choice for most people—for $120 off. That 30% discount is pretty great when it comes to Apple products (and Walmart is matching it, if you prefer to shop there).

The best-value Garmin fitness watch on the market

Lifehacker Health Editor Beth Skawrecki has tested all sorts of fitness trackers (she wrote a whole series of articles about it!) so you can take her word for it when she says the older-but-still-worthy Forerunner 955 is the Garmin that gives you the best bang for your buck. Right now it's $350, the lowest price she's seen for this workhorse, with features and internals that are a near match for much more expensive newer models.

A heart rate monitor you can trust for less than $25

Sure, you can get a fancy $500 fitness watch, but if your chief concern is monitoring your heart rate during your workouts, it definitely won't be as accurate as this CooSpo chest strap, which Beth trusts so much, she uses it to get a baseline when she tests other fitness gadgets. Did I mention it costs less than $24?

A Google Pixel 9 so cheap, our deals writer upgraded

Our resident deals guru Daniel Oropeza spends every day searching for sales and working to uncover the best bargains, so when he says Amazon's Prime Day price on the Google Pixel 9 was good enough to get him to upgrade his Pixel 6A as he was writing about it, you should take notice. Google's best smartphone yet (per our tech editor Michelle Ehrhardt), the Pixel 9 is currently $250 off.

Google's best foldable phone at a more affordable price

Look, even at a discount, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is still a pricey little device, but $1,384 is definitely a nice discount from the $1,800 retail price—and it's the lowest price this thing has hit since its release last year. Our review called it "possibly the best phone Google has ever made," so, you know, we like it.

A sub-$200 5G smartphone with a ton of features

Today's flagship smartphones are so advanced, I'd wager most people never touch the lion's share of their features and capabilities. Instead of stretching out the cost of a $1,000 Samsung over the course of a few years, you might find you're just as happy with a budget pick—and the Motorola Moto G Power 5G has a shocking number of features for a device that costs just $170 (unlocked!), including a decent camera, a capable processor, and a battery that'll last you 12 hours. Here's your chance to get off the upgrade train and just...have a phone.

An iPad you won't be terrified to give your kid

I used to be a "limited screen time" kind of parent, but then we had a pandemic, and now my life is a constant battle against YouTube, Roblox, and poor emotional regulation skills (and not just my own). If you too have a young child prone to, say, throwing their tablet at the ground when a game of Grow a Garden goes south, you should make sure they're tossing an iPad that doesn't cost $800. Which is to say, it's a good time to pick up the entry-level 11-inch iPad, since you can get one for 20% off.

An Android tablet with a pro-level stylus that made me wish I could draw

When I reviewed the XP-Pen Magic Note Pad, I came away from it adequately impressed by its capabilities as a general tablet, but convinced that I was missing out on its capabilities for the artistically inclined. It comes bundled with a highly sensitive stylus that will make digital artists drool—it has four times more pressure levels than the Apple Pencil, which means that much more accuracy in translating your artistic vision into the digital space. Normally $440, it's a whopping $180 off right now.

An e-ink notebook that will transform you into an organized person

While I haven't had a chance to complete a full review of it, I've been testing out the Viwoods AiPaper digital notebook for a few weeks, and I'm pretty impressed—it holds up well against more established brands like Supernote and reMarkable. If you're looking for an e-ink notebook with a responsive stylus, a smooth and paper-like writing experience, it's a great bet. It also stands apart from those competitors with (slightly finicky) support for the Google Play store, which means you can also download e-reading apps, productivity apps, and more, though not all of them are officially supported and might not perform as you expect. (Incidentally, it's called the AiPaper because it has an integrated ChatGPT bot and built-in translation and summary features. They work well, but you can also just ignore them—death to AI, I say.) The 10.6-inch model is $70 off at $469, or you can choose the smaller 8.2-inch AiPaper Mini for $100 less.

A ridiculously giant, easy-on-the-eyes e-ink notebook

If you dig the capabilities of an e-ink notebook like the Viwoods AiPaper but are looking for one with an absolutely massive screen, I really dig the Boox Note Max, with a 13.3-inch display to rival your laptop's screen (read my review). It offers a comfortable, paper-like writing experience, a smooth stylus, and a crystal clear e-ink screen. Like the AiPaper, it has Google Play store support, but without making you just through the hoops that other device does. It's definitely pricey, retailing for nearly $700, but you can save $60 during Prime Day. Ten percent might not seem like a huge discount, but as I noted above, re: the Palma, 2, Boox devices basically never go on sale, so it's a great time to buy.

AirTags are great for keeping track of stuff—I've got one in my car so I always remember where I parked, one attached to both sets of my car keys, and one for my Beats Fit Pro case, because I misplace it several times a day. I need a few more, so I'm getting some on a Prime Day discount: A pack of four is $65, down from $100, making them just $16 or so each—a bargain price for the peace of mind of knowing I'll never have to ask my wife if she's seem my earbuds again.

A big 4K TV for way less than you'd think

Last Prime Day I made it my mission to get a new TV that a) was at least 50 inches and b) cost less than $250. I grabbed a model from Insignia—Best Buy's in-house brand, which is also sold at Amazon for some reason—that satisfied both requirements, and I've been pretty happy with it. If only I'd waited! This year I could've spent about $70 less and gotten all of that and 4K resolution! Alas: I'll have to leave this $170, 50-inch, LED 4K Insignia set with Alexa integration for someone else to enjoy. (If you wanted to go bigger, a few larger sizes are discounted too.)

That TV that looks like a picture frame that you've been eyeing every Prime Day

If you're anything like me, each year when Prime Day or Black Friday rolls around, you imagine dropping a fat stack of cash on the Samsung's The Frame, the flatscreen TV that hangs on your wall pretending to be a painting whenever you aren't watching something. I still haven't bought one, and given I got a different, decidedly un-frame-like TV in 2024, this probably isn't my year either. But maybe it's finally yours! If so, it's a good time for it—the current near-50% discount ($700 off!) takes the 55-inch model to a near-record low price.

The two-way dash cam our writer wishes he'd bought

My social media guilty pleasure are those viral dash cam videos where you get to enjoy the extraordinarily stupid ways people get into car accidents (but I only like the ones where no one gets hurt, because I'm not a bad person). Maybe one day I can film my own if I get the Viofo A229 Pro, which has front and rear HD cameras for capturing all the crazy drivers out there (but not you! You're an excellent driver). It's the dashboard camera our freelancer Pranay Parab wishes he'd bought.

A possibly life-changing karaoke machine

I know—how can a karaoke machine change your life? Well, our own Stephen Johnson says the Ikarao Break X2 smart karaoke machine changed his, and who am I to question his lived experience? It does seem pretty cool, with an Android touchscreen tablet, two wireless microphones, audio output of up to 300W, and an input jack for an electric guitar so it works as a practice amp. And it's $120 off! A cheap price to change your life.

What do you think so far?

An adorably portable, waterproof Bluetooth speaker

I don't get you portable speaker people—I love the tinny sound of my iPhone speaker!—but if you want your music to actually sound, you know, good while you're on the go, the Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 4 (our freelancer Khamosh Pathak's top choice for picnics and backyard hangs) is currently just $66, marked down from $100. Maybe I should get one. It is the season for backyard barbecues with friends, after all. Not that I have a barbecue. Or friends!

A party speaker loud enough to piss off the neighbors

Maybe that little waterproof Bluetooth guy is too wimpy for you. Maybe instead, you want a party speaker so loud, it will make your neighbors hate you, and scandalize others when you take it to the beach or park. In that case, you want the Soundboks Go, which our resident party speaker expert Daniel Oropeza says is among the loudest speakers he's ever reviewed. It's currently $200 off.

Our food writer's absolute favorite air fryer

Lifehacker's food expert Allie Chanthorn Reinmann has tested a bunch of air fryers, but she loves the Instant Pot Vortex best of all. For Prime Day, this quick-cooking workhorse is 40% off, taking it down to $90. I'm totally getting one to replace the tiny budget air fryer I've been using.

A pro-level milk frother

I've written a bunch about my coffee obsession for Lifehacker, and highlighted the products and gadgets that fuel my caffeine habit, and yet somehow I've never acquired a milk frother I like. The little wand I got from IKEA is basically a novelty, and the add-on attached to the Nespresso I found on the street (thank you, Park Slope, Brooklyn stoop giveaway culture!) doesn't exactly make the airiest milk clouds. So I'm sorely tempted by the Dreo All-in-1 BaristaMaker milk frother, another Allie recommendation (she gave it a glowing review).

A Midea window air conditioner that won't get moldy

Midea's U-shaped window units have a faithful online following, or they did until that whole "recall due to mold issues" thing that happened earlier this year. But don't let that put you off! The company has fixed the issue, and you can get an updated model that won't get moldy at a pretty decent 25% discount right now. That puts the 12,000 BTU model currently cooling the entire first floor of my house at $360, which is a lot less than I paid a few years ago (other sizes are similarly discounted).

A colorful precision coffeemaker

I was jealous enough last Prime Day when Jake wrote about getting a discount on the colorful, adorable Moccamaster Technivorm coffeemaker, which comes loaded with enough smart features to wow any caffeine fiend (read his take here). It was already sold out then, but right now, you can still grab one in white for 50% off. I should probably go do that now.

A dutch oven that doesn't cost $500

When I became an adult, I learned of the status one is granted by owning a dutch oven from Le Creuset. But those adorable, weighty, candy colored beasts cost a pretty penny, and so I have never had the pleasure. And yet my dreams of slow-cooked meals need not be just dreams, for I can spent a fourth as much (or less!) on a perfectly cromulent dutch oven from Lodge. Allie tipped us off to the value and utility of this unsung brand, and Meghan, Lifehacker's managing editor, convinced me to grab one this year after talking up her previous Prime Day purchase. At 23%, a three-quart enameled cast iron dutch oven is just over $60. Think of all the money you'll have left over for ingredients to put in it!

A butt-saving portable power bank for $1,000 off

It was 95 degrees today in Brooklyn, and I survived it thanks only to my 12,000 BTU Midea AC (let's pretend that recall didn't happen). If we'd suffered a power outage, not only would I have missed the first day of Prime Day, but I'd have melted into the couch. To stop that from happening, I should probably get a battery backup for emergencies. Our trusty freelancer Jeff Somers swears by his—and you can currently pick up a Bluetti power bank that can run nine devices at once for a hefty $1,000 off.

A remote-controlled bidet that will make you look forward to going to the bathroom

Speaking of butts, I've been testing out the Coway Bidetmega 500S at home for about six months now, and the best review of it I can give is to say that I'm not a little disappointed every time I have to use a different toilet. It's really that good, with a ton of features to justify its price, from separate user profiles, to an adjustable spray, to on-demand warm water, to a built-in deodorizer. Amazon reviewers consistently praise it as the best bidet they've ever used, and right now, you can get one for a whopping $270 off. Your butt will thank you.

A vacuum powerful enough to send pet hair to oblivion

My parents owned as many as 12 cats when I was growing up, and I bear the scars (only one of them literal) to the point that I will never own more animals than there are people in my household. But writer Jeff Somers has no such scruples. He has five-ish pets but somehow manages to keep a clean house thanks to what sounds like a truly remarkable vacuum, which has a removable attachment that's basically a dedicated weapon in battles against shedding. At $219, the Shark NV752 TruePet edition is 37% off—a small price to pay for being able to wear a black wool coat in public again.

The robot vacuum expert's favorite robot vacuum

Maybe you want your vacuum to vacuum for you. I'm way too cheap to spend more than $1,000 on a robot vacuum myself, but lots of people seem to love these things—including our resident robot vacuum expert, reviewer Amanda Blum, who has let dozens and dozen of them cruise around her house in order to judge their efficacy at keeping her floors clean. Of all of them, she calls the 3i S10 Ultra combo vacuum/mop "the one"—and right now, it's 37% off. She says she hasn't been able to stop recommending it to people since she first tested it, so I guess I'm sold. Or I would be if I had robot vacuum money.

A compact carpet cleaner every pet parent should own

Even if your dog or cat is exceptionally well behaved, you're still going to have to deal with the occasional accident on your nice dining room rug. (Though is it really an "accident" when your dog pees in the house to let you know he's mad you decided to shut him out of the bathroom while you showered? Asking for a friend.) For years, I've relied on Bissell's Little Green carpet cleaning machine to deal with the, er, fallout from my anxious Pomeranian, and it has been a true lifesaver (or at least a rug- and furniture-saver). You can get one for 32% off right now, and if you've got a four-legged creature in your house, youmost assuredly should.

Writer Jeff Somers and I also have a lot in common when it comes to being homeowners—we're both paranoid about things breaking, and we're sometimes too cheap to pay someone else to fix stuff for us. Which is why he's convinced me I too need this DeWalt multi-tool that he praises to the heavens. It's versatile, with swappable attachments you can use for any number of projects, and it's 57% off right now.

A DeWalt starter tool combo set, while you're at it

While we're talking tools, whenever I edit posts from Lifehacker freelancer Becca Lewis, who is extraordinarily knowledge about building, fixing, and home improvement, I realize how ill-equipped I am to do basically any of that. I should probably pick up one of the deeply Prime Day-discounted DeWalt tool kits she recommends, like this 20-volt, five-tool combo, on sale for $399, 38% off its regular price. It has a drill, a driver, an oscillating multitool, a 6 ½-inch circular saw, a reciprocating saw, two batteries, a charger, and a tool bag. I'm already drawing up plans.

Smart leak sensors that can help you stave off disaster

Last year while I was on a camping trip with my son I got a fun text from my wife, all about how our boiler decided to start shooting water everywhere. One $700 repair later, we decided to invest in some leak sensors so in the future, we'll be alerted as soon as the water starts flowing in the basement (and hopefully before the steam starts shooting out of the radiators upstairs). Our smart home reviewer Amanda recommends this three-pack of sensors from Aqara, which work with a companion app so you can keep tabs on your biggest asset's water issues from afar for 35% off.

A compact, adjustable ladder for under $100

A ladder? That isn't very exciting. Unless you own a home but not a ladder, in which case you know that getting a compact, adjustable 10.5-foot ladder for less than $100 is actually very exciting indeed. (If you need more height, a 14.5-footer is only $10 more.) Full disclosure: I totally ordered one of these.

A retractable garden hose I'm convinced would change my life

When our backyard hose started leaking a year or so back, my wife took it upon herself to buy a cheap replacement at the corner hardware store. I pretended to be grateful, but actually I was seething, because I'd been looking forward to getting one of the retractable hoses our gardening expert Amanda Blum keeps talking about. Would a 100-foot Giraffe Tools hose with an automatic winding reel really change my life? Probably! I guess I won't know until our current hose breaks again. In the meantime, you can get one for 26% off, you lucky duck. (Are hoses more boring than ladders? I say no.)

A LEGO Star Destroyer, obviously

OK, no more boring homeowner stuff—just get this rad as hell Star Wars LEGO set. I can think of few ways I'd prefer to relax than putting together a 1,555-piece LEGO Star Destroyer. It's 30% off, taking it down to around $111; the LEGO price formula is basically the number of bricks divided by 10, so you can see why this is an excellent deal. (Eric has some other picks for you Brickmasters to consider, too.)
