Abtot hails B Corp certification as ‘exciting step forward’

The Association of Bonded Travel Organisers Trust (Abtot) has achieved B Corp certification – reaching a threshold that recognises ethical businesses which “combine profit with purpose”.

The organisation said in a statement: “We are proud to be part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact.

“As a UK government approved body and CAA Atol franchisee, being a B Corp underpins Abtot’s ethos of continually working to provide better business standards for our staff and members.”

It added: “This milestone is not just a badge of honour for our business.

“With every step of the approval process, we underlined how Abtot can deliver best-in-market business practices to our staff, members and associates, as defined by B Lab.”

Samantha Bradbury, membership director, commented: “While we take pride in our strong business practices, becoming a B Corp marks an exciting step forward.

“We look forward to learning from and collaborating with the B Corp community in the UK as we continue to improve.

“Our top priority remains providing the best financial protection in the market, and that commitment will never change.

“As Abtot celebrates this significant achievement, we’re aware we are only just getting started.

“Our journey toward excellence continues, and we look forward to sharing more about our progress and future initiatives.”

Established in 1993, Abtot is a membership association which operates a regulated financial protection bonded scheme for travel organisers. It has nearly 400 specialist travel organiser members.
