Accor has appointed former Starwood Hotels and Resorts executive Stephen Alden as CEO of the Raffles and Orient Express brands, the company announced. Alden will report directly to Accor chairman and CEO Sébastien Bazin and will become a member of the group executive committee.
Alden most recently created and launched the Dedica Anthology brand in 2017, with nine properties across Europe. He previously worked with Starwood, leading the St. Regis and Luxury Collection brands globally. He also served for nine years as CEO of the Maybourne Hotel Group, with properties including the London hotels Claridge's, The Connaught and The Berkeley.
The first Raffles in North America is scheduled to open in Boston in 2022.
