If you’re looking to buy a monitor, either as an upgrade or for a multiple-monitor setup, then we’re going to see some of the best Prime Day monitor deals very soon, which will likely be offering the deepest discounts you’ll find until Black Friday rolls around in November. We’re here to be your faithful guides as you get ready to navigate the 2022 Prime Day sales, so read on to see everything you need to know to score the perfect monitor deal for your battle station:
When do the Prime Day monitor deals start?
While Amazon spent a long time sitting on this information, it finally announced the Prime Day 2022 dates, which will be this Tuesday, July 12, and Wednesday, July 13. Not only that, but deals will start as early as June 21 for Amazon, with some of its devices, such as the Fire TVs, going on sale for up to 50% off, which is great if you’ve wanted to pick up a TV recently.
Besides that, we’re also likely to see deals from some other retailers on Prime Day and the days leading up to it, as they all try to work around Amazon’s schedule and take advantage of the shopping frenzy.
Where are the best Prime Day monitor deals?
With Amazon already starting with its deals, you might not be surprised to hear that Amazon is likely to have some of the best Prime Day monitor deals. In fact, there are likely to be a lot of great Prime Day deals to work with, and it tends to be the best day of the year to purchase electronics like monitors and TVs. As such, we’d say that Amazon is the top retailer to look at if you want to find the absolute best Prime Day monitor deals.
We’re also likely to see many deals from the two big brick-and-mortar retailers. There are always some great Best Buy TV deals going on, so we’re pretty sure that you’ll at least find some great TVs that could double as a monitor or that you’ll find monitors for gaming or PC use, so keep an eye out on them. As for Walmart, while it isn’t necessarily known for specific electronics sales, we would be pretty surprised if it didn’t have some of the best Prime Day monitor deals as well. Not only that, but we’d probably suggest you grab a Walmart+ subscription if you haven’t already since that gives you access to special deals and restock events; very handy if you want to grab a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series console.
Another place to keep an eye on is Samsung’s site. Granted, you’ll only find that brand’s monitors on sale, but given how many of them there are, you’re bound to find a good monitor deal to work with. In fact, we’ve placed the Samsung Odyssey G7 on our best gaming monitors list, so at the very least, if you might find the Odyssey lineup on sale, and if you want a gaming monitor, that’s going to be something you’ll want to look at. Of course, that doesn’t mean you won’t find non-gaming monitors there either, something we’re sure many folks who aren’t gamers will want since gaming monitors tend to be expensive. We also have the Samsung 27-inch SF354 on our best computer monitors list as it has a lot of nice features while still being a budget monitor, so there’s lots of stuff to pick from on Samsung’s site.
Finally, while they have a smaller lineup, you might also want to check out Dell and HP. Their monitors also feature on best-monitors lists, so you’ll be relatively spoiled for choice between them if you want to go that route.
Should you buy a monitor on Prime Day 2022?
Prime Day is the best day of the year for electronics, and monitors certainly fall under that category. For some folks, what they have now is fine and not worth an upgrade just because there’s a deal on it. Granted, it’s one of the best times of the year to find a sale, but there’s always next year, and if there’s no pressing need for a new one, then there’s no point spending your hard-earned money on that.
That said, if you just bought a new gaming PC and want a nicer monitor, you’ll certainly want to look at Prime Day deals. In fact, you may even find some great gaming PC deals to pair with a new monitor for a whole new setup, which is certainly doable, even on a budget. Or you may have just gotten a high-end GPU and are looking for a 4K monitor deal so that you can test the limits of your new GPU. Whatever your reasoning, it’s important going into Prime Day knowing exactly what you want because there’s always a risk that a moment of weakness will lead to buying something that’s out of budget for you and ultimately lead to you not enjoying your purchase.
That’s generally why we suggest not only budgeting properly but just grabbing a deal that fits within that budget, even if it’s not necessarily the best deal you’ll find over the course of the year. After all, you don’t know if that deal will be available and if it will be better than what you already have. That said, Prime Day is close enough that if you don’t immediately need a monitor, waiting a couple of days for the deals to start rolling in isn’t too bad. That’s especially true if you’re setting up multiple monitors and have a working one that you can use in the meantime. Sure, you might have to wait a bit for the cool setup, but you’ll save yourself some cash in the process.
