Goldfish crackers brings back NBA duo for new campaign

After its “Go For the Handful" campaign got over 10 billion TikTok views and 77 million earned media impressions last year, the Campbell Soup brand is once again enlisting NBA players Boban Marjanović and Tobias Harris—this time with tiny hands.

The “Tiny Hands” spot released today from Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi, shows Marjanović and Harris sitting at a table with a pack of Mega Bites, a bigger version of the Goldfish crackers released last January with flavors including Sharp Cheddar and Cheddar Jalapeño.

“These Goldfish Mega Bites are too big and cheesy to go for the handful,” says Harris, holding up a cracker.

“Tiny hands,” says Marjanović in response, brandishing the tiny hand coming out of his sleeve. “Tiny handful.” He reaches for a cracker, which does indeed take up the whole tiny hand.

The campaign harkens back to the original, in which Marjanović, a 7-foot-4 center for the Rockets, starred in a TikTok holding 301 crackers in his palm. The campaign aimed to reach Gen Z and included a TikTok challenge, #GoForTheHandful, in which TikTok users dueted the video showing how many crackers they could hold. Philadelphia 76ers forward Tobias Harris also featured in campaign spots.

The new campaign will run until the end of this coming January. It will run online on TikTok, Instagram and Goldfish’s own platforms, and will also appear on TV. According to IRI data provided by Campbell Snacks, 43% of people who tried Mega Bites were trying the Goldfish brand for the first time.
