Hablo launches wellness programme for travel professionals

Trade networking website Hablo has put together a wellness programme to support travel industry professionals.

The move follows the appointment of Greig White, formerly of Loganair and Etihad Airways, as head of travel trade.

It is working with experts Jo Henwood and Nick Hammond, both from The Mind Filter, which delivers workshops and courses for businesses. The aim is to offer industry staff help on emotional and mental wellbeing, resilience and personal development.

Hablo Wellbeing is designed to give people in the sector more control over their work life and provide them with knowledge on how to improve their mental health and reduce stress levels.

The programme is offering a range of free services to users, including a short meditation practice on Mondays to start the week, and posts on a Thursday which share tips, tools and techniques to reduce stress, improve energy levels and focus.

There are also paid-for services for businesses including mindfulness programmes; life and business coaching; training programmes; bespoke webinars and virtual workshops.

Hablo’s client services director George Beguinot said the services would help the sector to cope with the legacy of the Covid pandemic.

He said: “The effects of the pandemic are still being felt across the travel industry, and no more acutely than on the individuals working in our sector. Many of us are dealing with challenging business targets, long working hours, and new ways of hybrid working.

“In turn, these pressures can lead to exhaustion, increased stress, and negative impacts on mental and physical health. We’ve launched our Hablo Wellbeing programme as a first step in providing our users with much needed support and advice to help them cope with these new pressures.”

Nick Hammond, Hablo Wellbeing’s mindfulness teacher, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Hablo on the launch of this programme, supporting the travel industry by offering a range of personal development services.

“We believe that our experience in the wellbeing space, allied with our knowledge of the travel industry, means we are ideally placed to provide interventions that are both relevant and effective.”
