Icon of the Seas ‘continues to surpass booking records’ for Royal Caribbean

Bookings for Icon of the Seas have continued to surpass records set by any other Royal Caribbean ship’s inaugural season.

Speaking during a quarterly financial results call on Thursday (May 4), Royal Caribbean Group president Jason Liberty hailed the success of the ship’s “exceptional” sales since they launched.

“With Icon we set out to create the ultimate vacation for thrill-seekers, chill enthusiasts and everyone in between without compromise.

“She is getting exceptional demand with bookings well surpassing previous records, despite only being on sale for only five months, Icon is significantly more booked for her inaugural season at materially higher rates than any other Royal Caribbean ship launch.

“Icon will join the fleet later this year and will debut in the Caribbean in January 2024 with itineraries that include Perfect Day at Cococay and its new expansion, Hideaway Beach.”

Royal Caribbean International president and chief executive Michael Bayley (pictured) added Icon of the Seas is “driving” sales for 2024 as passengers book early to secure a holiday.

He said: “Icon is literally the best performing new product launch we’ve ever had in the history of our business and we’re delighted with the volume and rate and that really is a 2024 product so it is really driving a huge amount of demand and great rate.”
