Intrepid Travel appoints global B Corp impact manager
Rochelle Turner moves from Exodus for new role
Intrepid Travel has appointed Rochelle Turner to the newly created role of global B Corp impact manager.
Most recently, Turner held the position of head of sustainability for Exodus Adventure Travels and has more than 20 years of experience in sustainability and corporate social responsibility within the travel, tourism, and leisure sectors.
She has held senior roles at the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), Which?, Tui and Ipsos Mori.
Intrepid said she is “passionate about understanding the conditions for more sustainable consumption patterns and better business practices”.
The operator became a B Corp in 2018, certifying that it meets high standards of verified performance, accountability and transparency.
In her new role, Turner will be responsible for overseeing and improving Intrepid’s B Corp certification, as well as reporting on the company’s social and environmental impacts annually.
She will report to Sara King, general manager of purpose, who is advocating for positive changes in the tourism industry related to environmental and social causes.
Turner said: “I can’t wait to help Intrepid Travel realise its ambition to be the best travel company for the world. Intrepid has consistently led in the area of responsible travel and business, and I look forward to developing new opportunities for the business to create more positive change.”
King added: “I’m thrilled to have Rochelle join the team and expand the purpose team in Europe. Her passion and strong background in sustainability will support our continued improvement in our B Corp journey.”
