"Never Let Me Go"

We haven’t seen the last of Hailsham. The mysterious boarding school at the center of Kazuo Ishiguro’s 2005 dystopian novel, and its 2010 film adaptation starring Carey Mulligan, Keira Knightley, and Andrew Garfield, will be resurrected for the small screen. FX has a series adaptation of “Never Let Me Go” in the works, according to Deadline.

From “The Nevers” scribe Melissa Iqbal, the project will take viewers back to the English countryside where Kathy, Ruth, and Tommy are students at Hailsham, a school with an idyllic, isolated campus where pupils are constantly reminded that they have a special destiny. Through the years, the trio eventually uncover secrets about Hailsham’s origin and purpose and their own fates.

“Humans” and “Origin” are among Iqbal’s other credits.

Other upcoming FX series on our radar include “Kindred,” a sci-fi story about a time traveler based on Octavia Butler’s novel of the same name, and “Retreat,” a mystery about a Gen Z amateur sleuth. Janicza Bravo (“Zola”) is directing the former and Brit Marling (“The OA”) is co-writing the latter.
