New Humberside-Cornwall air link to start for summer

The Humber and Yorkshire region is gaining a new air link with Cornwall ahead of Easter.

Eastern Airways starts summer flights between Humberside airport and Cornwall airport Newquay on April 1.

The service will run twice weekly each way on Mondays and Fridays with fares starting at £74.99 one-way.

The schedule has been designed for long weekend stays, weekly commuting and those who also wish to visit friends or family, avoiding a seven-hour drive or eigh= hour rail journey between the regions.

The regional airline’s managing director Adam Wheatley said: “Helping solve vital regional connectivity is what Eastern Airways have done for 25 years.

“From our home base at Humberside, the addition of Cornwall Newquay, our newest base, helps connect one of the most distant surface transport journeys from the Humber Bank, Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire to one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK.

“We are delighted to add Humberside to our Gatwick service from Cornwall Newquay, adding to our existing services to Aberdeen which we have served continuously since 1997 and the return for the third year of Jersey which commences in May.

“This also comes at a time when we are delighted to be adding new roles to support our expansion of services across our network.”
