New Zealand unveils campaign promoting ‘authentic’ holidays
If You Seek is tourist board’s first global push since 2019
Tourism New Zealand has unveiled a global campaign aiming to attract visitors looking to experience the country “via perspectives of the destination’s people and place”.
If You Seek, the tourism board’s first global campaign since 2019, will combine local culture, wildlife and landscapes to give travellers an authentic New Zealand experience.
The campaign features a series of videos and pictures of both well-known and lesser-known destinations, including Tāne Mahuta and Hell’s Gate in the North Island, Hooker Valley near Aoraki Mount Cook and the Great Tasman Cycle Taste Trail in Nelson Tasman.

René de Monchy, chief executive of the tourism board, said: “Aotearoa New Zealand is a place for those who pursue meaningful connections with culture, people and the environment.
“Those curious manuhiri [visitors] are rewarded with a rich experience of our beautiful country and are met with manaakitanga [a deep expression of hospitality and reciprocal understanding/connection].”
Last week, the tourism board announced it will launch a dedicated trade campaign to inspire agents and help them sell New Zealand holidays.
