Aer Lingus Regional operator Emerald Airlines has bumped up capacity to record levels this winter from Belfast City airport.

More than 450,000 seats have gone on sale with a 30% discount on fares across the network from the Northern Ireland airport running this week.

Of the 10 cities served, the carrier has added more flights to destinations such as Southampton, Leeds Bradford and Edinburgh.

The number of seats available from Belfast City this winter was hailed as the highest capacity ever offered in the history of the Aer Lingus Regional network.

Birmingham gains the highest frequency with up to five flights a day, followed by Edinburgh and Leeds Bradford with up to four a day. Up to three daily flights are scheduled to Manchester and Southampton and two to Glasgow. Cardiff will be served by a daily service, Newcastle by four a week, East Midlands by three a week and Exeter by two a week.
