KMC Rio de Janeiro purchased a new building back in April, and we met there to view the space and bless it by engaging in Wishfulfilling Jewel prayers at that time.
Now the renovation have started and things are moving quickly. Kadampa practitioners from our international community are arriving soon to help with the work, because there is a lot to do before it is ready to become a place of refuge in Rio.
The new center is located in the heart of Botafogo , close to Botafogo Beach, between the two most touristic places in Rio: Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) and Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer statue) and 5 minutes walk to the subway station in Botafogo.
We will have various types of en-suite accommodation from single rooms to four person rooms and dorms. There will be two meditation rooms with capacity for over 150 people. Also we will have a large book and gift shop, World Peace café, gardens, hammocks, and a relaxing rooftop area.
All KMC Rio practitioners are excited about this new development and to see Dharma flourishing in Rio!
