The Star Alliance has named Air Canada president and CEO Michael Rousseau chairperson of its chief executive board, the alliance announced Monday.

The Star Alliance has named Air Canada president and CEO Michael Rousseau chairperson of its chief executive board, the alliance announced Monday. Rousseau was elected by the alliance's member airlines to a two-year term as board chair, during which he will help to guide "the strategic direction of the Alliance," it said in a statement. The alliance's chief executive board includes the CEOs of each of its 25 member airlines. Rousseau succeeds United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby, who was appointed in 2020.
