Technomine Travel Solutions plots overseas expansion
Chris Oakes promoted to global sales director
Outsourcing specialist Technomine Travel Solutions (TTS) has promoted director Chris Oakes to the new position of global sales director to oversee international growth.
Industry stalwart Oakes joined TTS as partner and sales director in December 2020 and it began UK operations in January 2021.
The company can help travel agencies with services such as back-office and out-of-hours functions, and web chat support. It recently added front-end sales resources as another option in its portfolio of services, with experienced frontline agents now available on an interim or full-time basis.
Parent company Technomine Group has offices in North America, UAE, India and the UK, and was founded 13 years ago by Kunal and Viral Naik.

Oakes will continue to work with the UK and Ireland market and develop new business across North America and Europe.
Speaking from the group head office in Ahmedabad in western India, he said: “I am delighted to be able to announce the next phase of our road map for TTS, growing our offering, the team, and partnerships globally and add value to our existing partners.
“Starting up during the pandemic was a challenge. However, with a strong support network of our parent company, this allowed us to have the resources, agility and flexibility to develop our portfolio of services and solutions.”
He also paid tribute to the support of existing clients such as Aito, The Specialist Travel Association, the Institute of Travel and Tourism, and Blue Bay Travel.
Kunal Naik, managing director, said: “It is an exciting time for our organisation and turnover is on track to hit seven figures [sterling] in the next six months with TTS in the UK alone and look forward to supporting our partners even more.”
Oakes said TTS now has a staff of 75, up from its initial headcount of five.
