My cat is not nice. She's not patient or cute. She won't let you pet or hold her. She's all business, and she definitely doesn't play. I tried catnip, all kinds of toys, and balls of string, but Peepers was never interested. She literally never plays. But then I got an Enabot ROLA Cat Robot, a completely ridiculous but completely awesome robotic cat toy and surveillance camera. And for a few glorious moments, I got her to bat a toy around. She even looked like she was having fun. I caught it on video too—evidence to use against her later.

Prime Day is nearly over, but there's still time to bond with your cat. The ROLA Mini is on sale for for $127.99, down from $169, for the next few hours. Whether that's "worth it" is a personal choice, but I love the thing. It does exactly what it promises, and does it better than I expected. It's an adorable little robot you can control with an app on your phone, and it takes surprisingly high-quality 2K video, even when it's dark. It transmits and listens to sound, and you can press a button to make it meow, bark, or quack. It can even act as a surveillance camera and take pictures or video when something moves in front of it.

Walmart’s Prime Day competition sale begins at midnight on July 8 and will include deals up to 50% off. It’s an especially good option if you have Walmart+. 

Best Buy’s Prime Day competition sale, “Black Friday in July,” runs through Sunday, July 13 and has some of the best tech sales online. It’s an especially good option if you’re a My Best Buy “Plus” or “Total” member.
