Fans of the acclaimed Danish political drama “Borgen” will be thrilled to see this new trailer for the series’ return, “Borgen: Power & Glory” — the show hasn’t been on air since 2013, and clearly much has changed for the the woman at its center, Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudsen).

No longer Prime Minister, Nyborg assumes a new role in goverment as Minister for Foreign Affairs, and almost immediately is drawn into a battle for control of the Arctic between international superpowers.

A stand-alone continuation of the original series, “Power & Glory” looks set to stay topical, with the trailer also teasing Nyborg’s fight to pursue her own climate policies, in conflict with the new administration’s own. “You’re no longer the Prime Minister,” she’s pointedly reminded.

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen also returns as Katrine Fønsmark, Nyborg’s former head of press, now working as a news department head for a television station.

Originally premiering in 2010, “Borgen” won a Best International TV BAFTA, and was the recipient of a Peabody award. Knudsen was nominated for an International Emmy Award for her performance. The Danish star has also featured in a number of English language productions, including HBO’s “Westworld,” British miniseries “The Accident,” and feature films “In Fabric” and “The Duke of Burgundy.”

The new series will launch on Netflix on June 2.
