Wikipedia Hires Spin for Its Social Marketing Needs

As it prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary, Wikipedia hired social media agency Spin to help mark the occasion.
According to Campaign, Spin will be responsible for creating social-first video and producing content for Wikipedia.

Wikipedia’s 25th anniversary falls on Jan. 15, 2026, and so far, its parent organization, Wikimedia Foundation, has not provided any details regarding how it will celebrate the occasion.
It marked its 20th anniversary in 2021 with a yearlong celebration, “20 Years Human,” which it described as “a nod to the humans who make Wikipedia possible—including regular contributors, donors, and readers.”
As it prepares to celebrate 25 years, Wikipedia is facing new technological threats, including from artificial intelligence, leading a group of Wikipedia editors to form WikiProject AI Cleanup. The project is described as “a collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly written, AI-generated content on Wikipedia.”
