Air Canada in 2023 will launch new service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and each Montreal and Toronto, the carrier announced Thursday.

Air Canada also plans to inaugurate service between Toronto and Sacramento, restore service on 13 transborder routes and increase frequency on 14 existing routes between the United States and Canada, according to the carrier.

The new JFK service will begin March 26. Air Canada Express will operate twice-daily service between Toronto and JFK and daily service between Montreal and JFK using Embraer E175 aircraft with 76 seats featuring business- and economy-class seating.

Service between Toronto and Sacramento will begin June 1 and will operate four times weekly on 137-seat Airbus A220-300 aircraft with business- and economy-class seating.

On May 1, Air Canada will resume service between Montreal and each Nashville, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh; between Vancouver and each Austin, Texas, and Anchorage, Alaska; between Calgary and Los Angeles and between Toronto and Milwaukee. 

On May 15, the carrier will resume daily service between Montreal and Seattle. On June 1, Air Canada will resume service between Toronto and each Hartford and Salt Lake City, and between Toronto and each Kansas City and Portland, Ore., on June 17. That same day, the carrier will resume daily service between Vancouver and Boston.

Summer frequency increases include routes between Montreal and San Diego; between Vancouver and each Newark, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle; and between Toronto and each Baltimore, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
