Airbnb giving away World Cup tickets with select home bookings — here’s what to know
The men’s soccer championship begins June 11 at Mexico City Stadium
Airbnb has announced a new booking deal that could score guests tickets to the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
The quadrennial international men’s soccer championship — jointly hosted across Canada, Mexico and the U.S. this year — is set to begin June 11, with an opening match between Mexico and South Africa at Mexico City Stadium. The 48-team tournament will be held in 16 cities across the three host countries, with the final scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Throughout June and July, select Airbnb stays in the 16 cities will include free tickets to a scheduled match from the knockout stages to the final for each guest staying at the property.
However, only listings with a soccer ball icon as a highlight at the top of the page include the free ticket deal. Once confirmed, the Airbnb host will share details on how to access the tickets.
More than 1,300 free tickets for the different stages of the tournament will be available to Airbnb guests and hosts.

“Airbnb hosts don’t just offer you a place to stay—they provide a more authentic way to experience a destination,” Dave Stephenson, Chief Business Officer of Airbnb, said in a statement. “And this World Cup, they’re doing something extraordinary: helping fans follow their teams wherever the tournament takes them, with select homes including free tickets in every host city.”
Bookings are averaging $385 per night during the World Cup, according to Airbnb. Properties inclusive of the free ticket offer will become available in certain cities on the following dates, as specified by Airbnb:

The Airbnb deal comes one day before the World Cup is set to begin in Mexico City. However, according to a new analysis by the Financial Times, nearly 180,000 tickets for the World Cup are still available on Fifa’s official resale portals.
Tickets for even low-profile games in the U.S. can run fans around $140 per ticket. The most expensive tickets for regular seats at the U.S. opener were priced at $2,735, which is more than the cost for a seat at the 2022 World Cup final.
The cheapest seats for the opener are around $1,000.
The Athletic recently reported that the price for any game at any stage of the 2026 World Cup is higher than an equivalent ticket for any prior FIFA tournament.
