On the second weekend of February, we had the opportunity to strengthen our connection with Buddha Amitayus through chanted prayers, meditation, and mantra recitation. Gen Gogden, our Resident Teacher, led this wonderful retreat in a way that was warm and easy to understand.
Strengthening our connection with Buddha Amitayus will help us enjoy a long life with great good fortune and wisdom and make spiritual progress. We dedicate so that we can help others to experience the same good conditions. How wonderful!
Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall, UK
On the first weekend of February, we hosted an Amitayus retreat at Nagarjuna KMC Thornby Hall in the UK.
We were immersed in the practice of Buddha Amitayus during this retreat, which helped us improve our concentration, increase our good fortune, and achieve special feelings of clarity and tranquillity. There was a lovely mix of regular and new Sangha enjoying both the retreat and the renovated accommodation of Thornby Hall.
During our annual retreat of Buddha Amitayus we collectively engaged in the powerful practice of this Buddha and increased our good fortune, long life, and wisdom. In six sessions, our beloved Resident Teacher, Kelsang Damcho, guided us through meditations and provided commentary on this blessed practice. Thank you for joining us in-person and online!
"When I see the signs of untimely death,
May I immediately see clearly the body of Protector Amitayus;
And, having destroyed the Lord of Death,
May I quickly attain the deathless state."

We enjoyed two days of retreat on the Yoga of Buddha Amitayus with a short introduction at the beginning of each session. Through engaging in the practice, new and experienced practitioners enjoyed the blessings of Guru Amitayus. Thank you, Venerable Geshe-la, for your vision of everyone being able to learn this practice.
