AmTrav Adds Seatmaps.com Data to Booking Process

AmTrav has partnered with Seatmaps.com to incorporate detailed airline seating charts for travelers booking on its desktop tool and mobile app, the travel management company announced.

The charts provide information on 15 specific attributes for airline seats, including availability of in-seat power, Wi-Fi and entertainment options; dimensions of seats and reclining capabilities; location information, such as whether a seat is close to a noisy galley or restroom or a drafty exit; an overall quality rating color-coded green, yellow and red; and whether a seat is in policy. AmTrav's direct integrations with carriers, including United Airlines and American Airlines, as well as connections to indirect sources provide live seat availability to those charts.

The charts are available both on the flight selection page when travelers are choosing flights and on the seat-selection page, according to AmTrav.

"Something that I know from my own travels and [that] we hear from our customers all the time is how critical their aircraft seat is to their corporate travel experience," AmTrav CEO Jeff Klee said in a statement. "Having accurate seat information when selecting flights and selecting seats … allows our customers to quickly and confidently select the best seats for them without leaving AmTrav."

Seatmaps.com reports continually updated data for 2,700 configurations across 700 airlines.
