Auckland airport terminal under water as floods hit
State of emergency declared across New Zealand city
Floods have hit Auckland airport as a state of emergency was declared in New Zealand’s largest city.
Flights face delays and cancellations as torrential rain forced evacuations across the area.

A notice on the airport website said: “Auckland airport terminals and roading (sic) are currently impacted due to wide spread flooding.
“We are requesting people to not travel to the international terminal at this time.”
In a separate tweet, Auckland airport said operations had been reduced after a runway lighting was damaged by a landing aircraft.
Auckland Council warned of “severe flooding” across much of the city with people advised to delay non-essential travel.
