Dell XPS 13 laptop — $899, was $999
While not quite as powerful as the MacBook Air, if you want an alternative, the Dell XPS 13 is a great option. The 12th gen Intel i7-1250U is an excellent mid-to-high-tier CPU that will easily handle all productivity tasks, and the 8GB of DDR5 RAM is more than enough to run everything smoothly. The XPS 13 is also very lightweight, coming in at just 2.59 pounds, so it’s easy to carry everywhere, and the incredible 500nits of peak brightness means you can use it outside even with a lot of sunlight. As for battery life, it’s very competitive with the MacBook Air, managing to get up to roughly 16 hours depending on your usage and brightness setting, which is impressive.
Dell XPS desktop — $1,000, was $1,300
You may not realize it, but the Dell XPS lineup is not only laptops but desktop machines as well, and if you’d like something good for work while having some basic gaming capabilities, the XPS desktop is a nice option. It has the same powerful i7-12700 Intel CPU, and a more impressive 16GB of DDR5 RAM, so you’ll get slightly better productivity and day-to-day experience. As for gaming, the XPS desktop comes with a GTX 1660 Ti, which is a little dated at this point, but it will still let you game on the most popular free-to-play games like Fortnite and League of Legends. Since the GPU isn’t as powerful, pairing it with budget monitor deals is easy without feeling like you’re losing out. As for storage, it’s pretty massive; With a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, you’ll have more than enough space for games, files, shows, music, and whatever you want to store. The Dell XPS desktop also comes with Wi-Fi 6E, so it’s future-proof and will provide you with an excellent connectivity experience.
Dell XPS 15 laptop — $1,099, was $1,899
If you liked the Dell XPS 13 but feel the screen is too small, the Dell XPS 15 is larger and has some better gaming specs. While it has the same 12th gen Intel i7-12700H and 16GB of DDR5 RAM, it also comes with an RTX 3050, a great budget GPU that will let you play most modern AAA games, albeit with reduced graphical settings. Luckily, the 15.6-inch screen runs at 1920 x 1200, so you get some nice graphical quality, and the 500nits of peak brightness means you can use it everywhere. However, it’s important to note that battery life does suffer significantly when gaming, which is to be expected. The overall build is very sturdy, and for a larger laptop with a GPU, it’s still relatively lightweight at 4.62 pounds, which is impressive.
Dell XPS 17 laptop — $1,299, was $1,949
It’s not often you see 17-inch screen laptops in the thin and light category, but the Dell XPS 17 is a great entry, especially if you don’t care so much about the specs as you do the screen. Under the hood, you’ll find a 12th-gen i5-12500H, a solid mid-tier CPU which, while less powerful than the i7, is still more than enough for most productivity work. Similarly, while there’s a lack of GPU in here, there’s still the Iris Xe integrated graphics, which will let you get away with some casual and indie gaming. Luckily, RAM is still pretty good with 16GB of DDR5, and the 512GBs storage is more than reasonable. As for battery life, it’s still impressive for a laptop with such a big screen, netting you around 11 hours or so, depending on how high you have the brightness on the screen. We should also note that we absolutely love the aesthetics and overall build, and the 4.87 pounds is still relatively lightweight for such a large laptop.

Why you should buy the Dell XPS 17
What we love the most about the Dell XPS 17, besides the 17-inch screen, is how absolutely thing and lightweight this is for a 17-inch laptop made to be carried around. Being just 0.77 inches thick and weighing 4.87 pounds, the Dell XPS is relatively lightweight for such a large laptop, so you can easily throw it in a bag and carry it around without worrying about the weight or size as much as comparable laptops. Pair that with the 500nits of peak brightness that the screen can output, and you can use the XPS 17 almost anywhere that doesn't have direct sunlight, which is great.
