Blacklane Expands City-to-City, Debuts On-Demand in U.S.

Chauffeured ground provider Blacklane has expanded its City-to-City program in the United States with 14 new metropolitan city pairs, the company announced Wednesday. 

Blacklane launched City-to-City in the U.S. in April 2023, and the new routes bring the program's total to 42 in the U.S. and 187 in 14 countries worldwide, according to the company.

The new routes include Boston to each Barnstable, Falmouth and Provincetown in Massachusetts and New Haven, Conn.; Dallas-Austin, Texas; Denver to each Aspen and Colorado Springs; New York to each Baltimore and New Haven and Uncasville, Conn.; Palm Springs, Calif.-San Diego; San Francisco to each Napa and Carmel-by-the-Sea, Calif.; and San Jose, Calif., to Carmel-by-the-Sea.

Blacklane also has launched on-demand chauffeur rides in Miami, enabling customers to request an immediate pick-up. The only other location the company offers on-demand ride hailing is Dubai. 

"We have seen an uptick in demand from our guests who are looking for quick and efficient travel and mobility solutions for every transportation needed, so expanding City-to-City and introducing on-demand functionalities was a natural next step in Blacklane's trajectory," CEO and founder Jens Wohltorf said in a statement.

The expanded and new services follow the company's recent close of its Series F funding round, which totaled about $36 million and included Germany-based car rental company Sixt as an investor.
