Brilliant Travel takes on eight new homeworkers in 2024

Brilliant Travel, the homeworking and Managed Service Travel Partner (MSTP) division of the Barrhead Travel Group, has recruited eight new agents to its homeworking arm this year.

A further tranche of homeworkers will join later this summer, as the division gets ready to launch its new recruitment campaign in September.

The new agents come from a range of travel backgrounds, ranging from former cabin crew to former agents looking to become their own boss.

In addition to growth within its homeworking network, Brilliant Travel has expanded its member network of MSTPs, with 10% member growth since the beginning of 2024. Three of the members have opened at least one further retail location in the last 12 months.

Linda Pyle, Brilliant Travel director, said: “With demand for leisure travel still growing at pace, there’s ample opportunity for experienced travel professionals to make the move to start their own business.

“We’re seeing this pattern as we continue to recruit: the buoyant market and preference for holidaymakers to book with a trusted agent has given many people the confidence to consider fulfilling their dreams to work for themselves.

“We’ve really doubled down on the personalised support we provide our members and specialists – and we’re seeing the results speak for themselves with many citing their best ever year of trading.”

She added: “Across the wider Barrhead Travel Group, the investment in additional product areas such as the US, touring and adventure, and golf has also contributed towards both supporting existing members as well as attracting new business owners.

“We’re also seeing an increase in cruise specialists thanks to the wider group’s extensive product portfolio for ocean, river, luxury and expedition.

“What we’re offering is the chance for Specialists and Members to create completely unique holidays for their customers and sell exactly what meets their requirements.

“I expect we’re going to see continued interest in the homeworking model over the next year or so. While our sights are set on sustainable growth, our intention remains focussed on providing quality, personalised support and an industry-leading offering to our members.”
