The pic is from when she and Sam Asghari went horseback riding together, which they both posted about in July.
Shortly after ET exclusively learned Sam Asgharifiled for divorce from Britney Spears on Wednesday, the 41-year-old pop star broke her silence with her plans to buy a horse.
"Buying a horse soon 🐴 !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar 🐎 ??? I can’t make up my mind 🙈 !!!" Spears shared with her 42 million followers on Instagram. "Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on 😜 ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar 😘 !!!"
The message was posted along with a photo of the singer riding a horse on the beach wearing a bikini top, shorts, sandals and a hat.
The pic is from when she and 29-year-old Asghari went horseback riding together, which they both posted about in July.
Spears did not mention the divorce or her estranged husband in the social media post and turned off the comments section.
Meanwhile, Asghari was spotted out by Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood on Saturday, Aug. 12, with two other guys. He was not wearing his wedding ring and seemed like he was in good spirits.
Asghari's divorce filing came hours after ET first learned that the couple had decided to split up. "Britney and Sam have split ," a source told ET on Wednesday. "She's adamant she didn't cheat. The two haven't got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup."
Meanwhile, a source told ET Spears "has not been doing well" amid the breakup.
"She has been denying any cheating allegations and going through a lot of emotions," the source said. "She is hurt because the situation brings up old feelings for her. This is the last thing she needed, especially after her boys moved to Hawaii, being worried about the fires there, and so on."
The source added, "She has been trying to get back on her feet and be healthy emotionally, physically, and mentally. Britney has people by her side and her immediate circle is there for her. They are rallying around her."
Of the rumored rift, another source told ET, "Britney and Sam have had ups and downs throughout their relationship. They have a lot of love for each other, but they also argue a lot over fundamental issues. Sometimes they feel as though each other's needs aren't being completely met. Recently, things took a bad turn and their arguments became more serious and real."
A separate source told ET that Spears and Asghari "have had issues on and off as a couple since before they were married."
The source continued, "Their issues tend to get worse when they are away from each other and spending time apart. Britney has the tendency to feel like she isn't being prioritized by Sam at times. Their arguments have led them to become unhappy at times in their relationship. They are also on different pages when it comes to their future as a couple, which has been a point of contention."
According to TMZ, which was the first to report the news of the split, the decision to end things came after Spears' husband confronted her over rumors that she had been unfaithful, leading to a big blowout fight.
Before their breakup, the couple appeared to be putting on a united front, with Asghari supporting his wife during her July incident with NBA star Victor Wembanyama's security guard, and voicing his excitement for Spears' upcoming tell-all memoir.
Spears and Asghari tied the knot in an intimate wedding at Spears' California home in June 2022, nearly six years after they met on the set of her 2016 music video for "Slumber Party." The wedding was attended by Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, Madonna, Drew Barrymore, and Donatella Versace, who designed Spears' custom gown.
