On July 13, 2024, a number of Buddhist teachers will join U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey in a free virtual event to raise support for pro-democratic action in the upcoming U.S. presidential election.
The virtual event, “Save Our Democracy: Compassionate Activism for November and Beyond” features speakers Tara Brach, James Baraz, Thanissara, Konda Mason, Reggie Hubbard, Jack Kornfield, Rick Hanson, Gullu Singh, Aaron Goldzimer, Kate Johnson, Melanie DeMore, Jane Hirshfield, and others. The 90-minute event will take place on Zoom and be livestreamed to YouTube, with aims to host a “gathering of visionary and inspiring talks, reflections, and music to raise funds for pro-democracy action in key swing states.”
“Together, let’s leverage compassionate activism for a pro-democracy outcome in November and beyond,” the event’s description reads.
