Colletts Travel claims rise in last-minute summer bookings
All-inclusive resorts in Balearics and Greece expected to sell out
High demand for last-minute summer trips has led to a claimed 30% year-on-year rise in bookings for Colletts Travel.
The Global Travel Collection luxury operator attributed the late booking surge to a combination of factors, including competitive pricing and exclusive packages in popular destinations such as Greece, France, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Italy, the Maldives, South Africa, Thailand, and Dubai.
The company also reported “sustained interest” in the Caribbean even during the low-season summer months, as consumers seek out value-for-money deals, with a strong emphasis on family travel.
Colletts Travel has seen a noticeable shift from ticking off bucket list trips to more spontaneous, live-for-the-moment experiences.
“Luxury clients are prioritising immediacy and flexibility in their travel plans, seeking unique and personalised experiences rather than waiting for the perfect moment to fulfil long-held travel ambitions,” a statement said.
Head of tour operations and contracting Jennifer Hartnett said: “We are significantly up from last year when looking at our summer bookings and this shows the eagerness of clients who want to make the most of their summer holidays.
“All-inclusive resorts in Greece and the Balearic Islands are expected to sell out quickly this summer.
“Touring in South America has also proven popular, with itineraries including the Amazon and Galapagos.”
Global Travel Collection vice president Francesca Mendola said: “Using an independent travel advisor, clients can book spontaneous getaways with peace of mind, leaving the experts to get them the best deals and create bespoke packages to suit them.
“We pride ourselves on securing the best contracts and our contracting team works diligently to ensure our independent travel advisors can deliver exceptional travel experiences that meet every client’s needs and preferences.”
