At this festival we received special instruction from Venerable Geshe-la that it is very important for us to learn how to do a Guru Yoga counting retreat using the mantra of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka, counting 100 000 mantras and followed by a Vajradhaka burning offering of 10 000 mantras. He said, “The main reason I am requesting you is because this practice is a wishfulfilling jewel for the development of Kadam Dharma internationally.”
Gen-la Dekyong gave us very clear, practical and inspiring instructions on how to engage in the retreat to make it qualified, effective, and powerful. Including how we can combine various request prayers at intervals with our mantra recitation. She encouraged us to deeply relax with the mantra and visualisation and as a result in the future we will do the great work of gaining the realisations of Mahamudra
