European OTA eDreams Odigeo proposes board appointment

A travel, hospitality and technology sector veteran is poised to join European OTA eDreams Odigeo as an independent director.
Laurence Berman currently serves as a non-executive board member of Spanish theme park PortAventura World and was previously vice president at Disneyland Paris and managing director of French operator Jet Tours.
Her appointment at eDreams is subject to approval by shareholders at the company’s annual meeting on September 27.

She has previously served on the boards of hotel groups, including Veranda Resorts and Valtur.
Berman has also held positions on the global advisory board of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and technology consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton.
A statement said: “Berman’s appointment will enhance the board’s capabilities at a pivotal moment for the business.
“Her nomination comes as the company enters the final sprint of its 3.5-year strategic roadmap, which has successfully transformed it into the world’s largest travel subscription business.
“As eDreams Odigeo gets closer to achieving its long-term targets and outlines its strategic roadmap beyond March 2025, this expanded board will be instrumental in driving further growth and achieving new milestones.
