Wowowowowowow. I watched the 2014 Swedish film Force Majeure, and I cannot stop thinking about it. The premise: A family of four goes skiing for a week in France. One afternoon, while eating lunch outdoors, they spot an avalanche rolling down the mountain. Every survives, but something happens that changes their marriage. Like The Lost Daughter, it’s a spare film on the surface, but every second is action-packed when it comes to subtext, shifting dynamics, and micro-expressions. I was GRIPPED. One of the best movies I’ve seen in ages.
Years ago, I rode an elevator with a New York Times fashion writer, and he casually mentioned that he’d recently made his boyfriend a baked potato with caviar. How chic is that? Would be fun to host a baked potato party with a toppings bar, including sour cream, cheese, chili, broccoli, corn, tuna salad, sautéed onions, the list goes on.

When you’re stressed, looking at garden photos feels like a deep breath, don’t you think? This beautiful one is in England, and I love how they created a path just by mowing the grass in one wobbly line.
Italian-made food candles, that’s all.
P.S. More fun things, and made me laugh.
