French and Nordic Dharma Celebrations 2024
Recently the Sangha from the Nordic region of Europe gathered at Kadampa Meditation Center Copenhagen for the Nordic Dharma Celebration, and Kadampa Meditation Center France hosted the French Dharma Celebration 2024.

Nordic Dharma Celebration at KMC Copenhagen
Recently, Sangha from the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland,Netherlands, Norway and Sweden) gathered at KMC Copenhagen, Denmark, to receive the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus from Gen Kelsang Dragpa, National Spiritual Director for the Nordic region.
Over 50 people received the empowerment. Gen Dragpa helped us recognize our human life as our most precious possession and understand how to make each moment meaningful. He emphasized the importance of engaging in the practices of Kadampa Buddhism, focusing on bringing our intellectual knowledge into our heart and then firmly deciding to - “Just do it”. This was the refrain of the Celebration. When teaching from The New Eight Steps to Happiness, Gen Dragpa referred us to Venerable Geshe-la's inspiring life as our example to follow.
The owners of the Center's building kindly lent an extra space for a café and for socializing. Everyone worked harmoniously together to produce this very special event - including homemade cakes, barista coffee and delicious meals.
For the first time the Nordic Dharma Celebration included a day retreat, led by Kadam Tim Larcombe, which was well attended and gave us the opportunity to immediately water the seeds of our empowerment.
The 2024 Nordic Dharma Celebration emerged beautifully from emptiness and dissolved back into emptiness having created powerful causes for Dharma to flourish in the Nordic region. Thank you, Venerable Geshe-la, for your kindness.
I am so happy to have received the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus. Being able to join online was great. Thank you Gen Dragpa, Kadam Tim and all the others who made this possible.

Such a great opportunity to receive Buddha Amitayus Empowerment with insightful teachings by Gen Kelsang Dragpa and inspiring and deep meditations led by Kadam Tim. It filled me with a lot of positive energy and I feel my mind has been moved. I am so grateful and fortunate to have been able to take part in this beautiful practice which enables our minds for such a powerful transformation!

I am very grateful for the opportunity to have participated in NDC and experienced Buddha Amitayus Empowerment. It was truly an incredibly enriching experience in Copenhagen that allowed me to get close to the Dharma and deepen my understanding of its importance in our lives. Doing Buddha Amitayus Sadhana together with the Nordic Sangha was a deeply inspiring experience, and it reinforced the importance of practising it regularly. In addition, I appreciated the great opportunity to be able to directly turn to the Buddhas for support and guidance in both difficult and joyful moments.
It felt very special to come together as a Nordic sangha in Copenhagen. It’s amazing how we support each other in spreading Dharma in these similar but also very different countries. Through this camaraderie, Amitayus’ special blessings and the wisdom teachings we received, I got the inspiration I need to continue to help spread Dharma in Denmark
