Fundraiser launched in memory of former Super Break director Frank Regan
Money donated will go to St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds
A fundraising drive has been launched in memory of former Super Break director Frank Regan, who died earlier this month.
The money raised by the initiative will support St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds, where Frank stayed for about a week before he died, aged 74.
The senior industry figure had been described by many former colleagues in the travel trade as a “true gentleman”.
Frank worked with coach tour operator NAT Holidays from 1973 to 1986, then at Neilson Ski Holidays and French Life. He joined Super Break in 1992 as operations director, working at the short break specialist until 2011.
Gary Wardrope, chief executive at Ortharize, who worked with Frank at Neilson Ski Holidays, said the family would appreciate donations to the hospice in lieu of flowers.
The fundraiser has been set up by Allan Robinson, Frank’s next door neighbour and golfing buddy.
Allan also described Frank as “a true gentleman”, adding: “He made the world a better place with his wonderful smile and his generous and happy spirit.
“He will be greatly missed by his many friends and his colleagues from his long career in the travel business.
“We have wonderful memories of Frank which will be cherished. Our deepest sympathies are with his wife Sally.”
Donations can be made via Allan’s JustGiving page.
