This April, 150 Kadampa practitioners gathered at Tharpaland Kadampa Meditation Centre to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Kadampa Buddhism in Germany. The German Dharma Celebration featured teachings from Gen Kelsang Ananda, a Mahayana refuge ceremony, and a commentary on "Advice from Atisha's Heart" amidst perfect spring conditions.
celebrating our 30th anniversary...HOW WONDERFUL
30 years ago, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche visited Berlin for the first time and gave extraordinary and precious teachings on the Kadampa Way of Life and granted the blessings of Buddhist refuge. This event marked the beginning of Kadampa Buddhism in Germany. To commemorate this remarkable anniversary - the birth of Kadam Dharma in Germany - Kadampa practitioners gathered at Tharpaland Kadampa Meditation Centre for the German Dharma Celebration, this time on the first real spring weekend in April.
Gen Kelsang Ananda, the National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition for Germany, gave clear and joyful teachings on the qualifications of a Kadampa practitioner, guided us through the Mahayana refuge ceremony and, based on Venerable Geshe-la’s instructions, offered a commentary on "Advice from Atisha’s Heart". A magical moment was the joint recitation of the special dedication prayers for the flourishing of Kadam Dharma - both in Germany and in the world.
The participants took advantage of the perfect conditions on this spring weekend, with warm rays of sunshine and a bright blue sky, surrounded by beautiful nature, to connect with each other and enjoy spiritual conversations. Warm-hearted meetings with friends accompanied the Dharma talks.
Many thanks to everyone who attended and helped with this blessed event.
We hope you enjoy the pictures!
