Another day, another AI image generator, though this one I actually like more than most of the others.
Today, Google has announced that it’s expanding access to its “Whisk” gen AI image tool, which aims to simplify the creation process by letting users enter images for context, along with text prompts.
As explained by Google:
“We believe you shouldn’t have to “learn how to prompt” to create images. It should be easy to try things out, iterate, refine and remix ideas visually. Like you’d do with a friend. So we’re trying something new! Whisk is labs.google/fx’s latest generative imagery experiment, focusing on fast visual ideation without the need to deeply understand prompting!”
And the results are actually pretty good, and could be of use for your marketing efforts.
For example, I used a picture of myself and sought to create a professional type image to depict what I do.
As you can see in this example, I’ve entered an image of myself as the subject, a contextual stock photo as the scene, and I generated the third image from a text prompt (a digital marketing professional showcasing their work).
I haven’t really done it right, because each element has a specific purpose, and I don’t think I’ve set the style properly. And while the end product doesn’t really depict me, it’s still a pretty good-looking stock-style image that I could use for another purpose.
But Whisk is actually better with product-style shots, like these ones I generated for a pen.
I was riffing on the “sell me this pen” cliché, but you can see how this could be useful in enabling you to create better looking product shots for your content efforts, which you can download from the app and use for whatever purpose you need.
Google first launched Whisk to U.S. users back in December, but it’s now expanding access to 100 more regions.
It’s free to use, and easy to try out. Could be another tool to add to your social media marketing stack.
