Hurtigruten unveils 2023 coastal programme excursions

Hurtigruten has released 63 excursions as part of its 2023 coastal cruise programme.

The excursions are split across two itineraries – the Svalbard Express in the summer and the North Cape Express in the winter.

Starting from June 3, 2023, passengers can choose from excursions such as fishing from a 39-foot cutter boat (pictured) in the Lofoten archipelago or hiking and birdwatching in Gjesværstappan Nature Reserve.

Prices for the fishing in Lofoten excursion start from €189 and the hiking and birdwatching excursion leads in from €269.

Guests will have around six hours to explore 14 areas along Norway’s coast and archipelago in the summer Svalbard Express programme.

On either northbound and southbound Svalbard Express sailing, passengers spend two nights in Longyearbyen and can experience two excursions included in the fare.

The excursions included are an evening at Camp Barentz and a sailing on hybrid-electric catamaran MS Bard.

For the first time, Hurtigruten will offer the North Cape Express sailing from Oslo during the winter.

The winter sailing programme starts on September 26, 2023.

Passengers will have around six hours in each of the 16 areas that feature in the winter programme.

The available excursions include a North Cape and King Crab Experience where passengers can experience crab from the Barents Sea in Sarnes village or dog sledding in Alta, which is priced from from €299.
