InteleTravel hosted more than 100 agents at its first-ever Luxury Travel Summit, including a homeworker who recently secured a booking worth more than £176,000.

The event, held at The Dilly in London earlier this month, aimed to help agents understand the market, deliver appropriate products and manage customer expectations.

Among the delegates was Jo Baiao, who achieved the top sales transaction in October with a booking worth £176,234.

Tricia Handley-Hughes, InteleTravel’s UK and Ireland managing director, said: “Many advisors who attended this event already sell luxury, but we also welcomed newer agents to this sector – it gives them an aspiration to achieve, when they can learn not just from suppliers, but their fellow colleagues.”

InteleTravel has a global strategy of focusing on luxury travel in the belief that the sector is “more resilient” in the face of economic downturns.

The summit was supported by InteleTravel’s luxury partners, who supplied educational content including presentations on accommodation, private jets, luxury cruises and destinations.

Handley-Hughes said: “Our 2024 bookings remain buoyant and getting advisors to recognise that luxury means different things to different people, and ensuring every trip creates a positive memory, should result in repeat business.”

InteleTravel’s 10 top-performing agents in October amassed a sales total of £827,665, the company said.
