Jet2 unveils new Norway and fjords programme for 2024

Bergen city breaks added to growing ‘Discover More’ range

Jet2 unveils new Norway and fjords programme for 2024

Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks will start a new programme of flights and city breaks to Bergen in Norway in spring 2024.

It will be first time that Jet2 has operated to Bergen in more than 10 years. Mid-week and long-weekend breaks will be available from Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford and Newcastle International airports.

Clients will be able to visit fjords such as Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, as well as exploring the historic city of Bergen.

The company said the new programme has been launched in response to increasing demand from customers who are looking for more “discovery-based experience” breaks.

The holidays are part of a new and expanding Jet2holidays range called ‘Discover More’. As well as Bergen, the ‘Discover More’ range currently includes Iceland, Christmas markets and Croatian cruises, in addition to several city break destinations.

Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Norway’s famous Fjords need no introduction, and we are incredibly excited to be launching flights and packages to this jaw-dropping destination.

“As well as giving customers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the beauty of the fjords, the city of Bergen is a stunning and vibrant city with something around every corner too.”

He added: “We are seeing more customers wanting to experience it all on their holidays, whether that is adventure, culture, history or sightseeing.

“To make life easier for these customers, our Discover More collection puts all of those experience-based holidays, including Norway and Bergen, into one extensive collection.

“As well as bringing those holidays and breaks together in one place, Discover More offers customers and independent travel agents all the award-winning benefits of a Jet2holidays or Jet2CityBreaks package. This range is set to become a huge hit thanks to the fantastic destinations on offer, coupled with our track record of looking after customers and delivering the very best experience.”

Gaute S. Riise, traffic development vice-president at airport operator Avinor, said: “It is great to see the entrance of Jet2.com and Jet2CityBreaks in the Norwegian market, an important contribution to the tourism industry with the UK being an important inbound market for Western Norway. We look forward to engaging in this new partnership.”
