‘Junior Hotel Inspectors’ join Classic Collection fams in Med
Eleven kids scrutinise properties in Cyprus and Turkey
Eleven children from travel industry families visited hotels in Cyprus and Turkey last week as part of Classic Collection’s Junior Hotel Inspectors initiative.
The scheme was launched in July, enabling agents to bring one of their children along on a fam trip to check out amenities, such as the kids’ club, entertainment and restaurants.
Kids on the trips were aged between four and 13, and – accompanied by their travel trade parents – they explored Constantinou Bros Athena Beach Hotel in Cyprus and Titanic Hotels, Turkey.
Donning high-vis vests, lanyards, clipboards and pens, they inspected child-friendly amenities such as new food and ice-cream options, beaches, swimming pools and waterslides.

Si Morris-Green, Classic Collection’s B2B director, who travelled with six-year-old daughter Lillie Mae, said: “It is very rare that agents get to take their children to work, especially overseas, so we’re delighted to have enabled trips for some of our trade partners to share with their kids.
“The children had many questions and gave those refreshingly honest opinions that only kids can, whilst our partner hotels were able to showcase the suitability of their hotel products to both children and adults.”
Agents from Aspire, Dawson & Sanderson, Hays Travel, Miles Morgan Travel, Millington Travel, Not Just Travel, One Travel Club, Seaside Travel and Sunlounger Travel in Cambridgeshire were on the trip, with youngsters Harper, Alfie, Alissa, Florence, Anna, Jude, Toby, Darcey and Imogen.
Sarah Ayling-Webster, regional sales manager for Classic Collection, travelled with seven-year-old son George.
She said: “So many travel professionals are often away from family for work. This trip has helped George with his understanding of my job and might well have a lit a spark of interest in him becoming a travel professional of the future.”
Melissa Tyers (Miles Morgan Travel), added: “I’m beyond grateful to have spent this one-on-one time with my girl Florence. We’ve made some friends for life and memories we’ll cherish forever.”
Details of the kids’ findings are on the Classic Collection agents’ Facebook page.
Another Junior Hotel Inspectors trip will take place next spring.
