In a touching tribute to motherhood and the passage of time, 44-year-old actress and singer Kate Hudson has unveiled a new music video for her song, "Live Forever." The video features cherished home videos capturing precious moments with her children and family.

"It's about the absolutely consuming joy Ryder was for me from the moment he arrived. Nothing can prepare you for a love that swallows you whole, but that's what watching my son grow up has been for me," Hudson expressed.

The song, co-written by Hudson alongside her partner, Danny Fujikawa, Linda Perry and Johan Carlsson, resonates deeply with Hudson's personal journey as a mother. Reflecting on her upbringing amid the musical backdrop of California, the Almost Famous star found inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, Madonna and Joni Mitchell.

Challenged by Perry to create a cohesive album that delved into her own experiences, Hudson poured her heart and soul into crafting a collection of songs that speak to the human condition. "Live Forever" stands out as a bright, bucolic folk ode to her son, Ryder, capturing the essence of maternal love and the joy of watching him grow into a young man.

Hudson shares oldest son, 20-year-old Ryder Robinson, with The Black Crowes musician Chris Robinson. Her and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy are parents to 12-year-old son Bing, and she and Fujikawa, also a musician, share 5-year-old daughter Rani.

In the music video, viewers are treated to a montage of home movies showcasing Hudson's journey through motherhood, from tender moments with her newborn to shared adventures at Disneyland. Hudson acknowledges the delicate balance between sharing these intimate moments while respecting her children's privacy.

"You don’t want to give away your child’s privacy," she explained, "But you want to show people how glorious loving a child can be. I was so young when Ryder was born, I look back and marvel; I was almost a kid, too, so we were able to fall in love with growing up at the same time. And when you listen to the song and watch, it sweeps you up like someone’s arms around you."

Hudson's album is expected to be released in late spring.
