Labor Deal Reached, Hotel Strike Ends in San Fran
The San Francisco hotel labor strikes ended after Hilton workers ratified a contract, including wage increases and benefits, concluding 93 days of walkouts.

San Francisco's hotel labor strikes concluded on Dec. 24, after approximately 900 Hilton workers at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 hotels voted to ratify a contract.
The move ended 93 days of rolling walkouts in San Francisco. The city was the final holdout in a nationwide wave of hotel labor disputes that began on Labor Day weekend, organized by hospitality union Unite Here.

increase of $3, preserved health insurance, enhanced pensions and enhanced
protections for understaffing and workload increase. The agreement is in effect
through 2028.
At their peak, the San Francisco strikes involved roughly 2,500 workers at Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott International hotels, impacting 27 percent of the city's hotel inventory.
"Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott workers refused to give up their healthcare or go backwards," said Lizzy Tapia, president of Unite Here Local 2. "As contract talks begin with the city's other full-service hotels in the new year, they should know that this is the new standard they must accept for their employees."
