National Travel Agents Day is back on July 22
Trade encouraged to get involved and promote events and offers via social media
Intrepid Travel is bringing back National Travel Agent Day for its third year on July 22.
The tour operator is encouraging agents around the country to get behind the day and share any activity on social media via the #NTADUK hashtag.
The idea is to promote the week of National Travel Agent Day as a time when customers should book with their local travel agent. Suppliers are being urged to support agents with special deals or incentives to increase bookings.
Zina Bencheikh, managing director, Intrepid, Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “As the industry gets back on its feet, agents are still facing challenging times, with everything from airline disruption to the squeeze on the cost of living. We see NTAD as chance for the industry to come together, show our support for the important role agents play and have some fun.
“We want to make the week of NTAD the time for customers to book with their local travel agent. We’d love to see suppliers providing discounts, support, or incentives – anything that can help shine a light on agents during this special week.”
The tour operator founded the day in 2020 to recognise and celebrate the valuable role of travel agents during one of the toughest periods the sector has ever seen.
The day takes place every year on the last Friday of the UK school term just before the start of the summer holidays.
Intrepid is planning a packed week of agent and customer discounts, giveaways, competitions, surprise treats and events. Events will be promoted and updated via its Intrepid Loves Agents Facebook group.
