New head of business travel named by Advantage
Andrea Caufield-Smith moves from Visa
Andrea Caulfield-Smith is joining the Advantage Travel Partnership as global business travel managing director.
Her appointment follows Guy Snelgar’s decision to return to his former consultancy business.
Snelgar joined director of global business travel in June 2022 and will leave Advantage in July after completing a hand-over with Caulfield-Smith, who joins on April 15.
Caulfield-Smith previously held leadership roles with brands that include American Express, easyJet and Carlson Wagon-Lit, and moves to the agency group from Visa where she is director B2B global travel partnerships.
Advantage chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Andrea to Advantage.
“Her extensive knowledge and experience of the global business travel sector is second to none, and she is excited by the ambitious growth strategy we have set ourselves going forward.
“Andrea is well-known across the business travel sector, and I believe she will be a strong addition to my team and welcomed by our members.
“Andrea’s key focus will be to build on the success of our global business travel division which accounts for over 50% of our membership, with a £7.6 billion annual turnover.
“Her key areas of focus will be to deliver even greater value to our members as we continue to invest significantly in our commercial products and services across this important business division.”
She added: “I would like to thank Guy for his strong contribution to our growth over the last two years. Under his leadership we have developed an outstanding team and significantly grown our global presence. He leaves Advantage with our gratitude and best wishes.”
Caulfield-Smith said: “I have always had a great deal of respect for Advantage’s global business travel team and am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to lead the business.
“I am hugely passionate about the business travel industry and very much looking forward to collaborating with members and suppliers to further strengthen our collective businesses.”
