Not Just Travel plans first overseas ‘Platinum Get-together’

Top sellers from Not Just Travel will be joined by the franchise’s spokesperson, TV presenter Eamonn Holmes, at the first overseas Platinum Get-together.

The event will take place next week on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady (pictured), sailing a round-trip from Barcelona, visiting Toulon, Marina De Carrera, Rome and Ibiza (September 8-15).

As well as Holmes, celebrity brand ambassadors Daley Thomson and Hayley Sparkes will join the agents.

The event is aimed at travel consultants who have reached Platinum status and above, which means they have earned commission of £20,000 and more, up to £2 million, since joining NJT.

About 130 travel consultants are expected to attend, along with senior management and business development managers from NJT.

Steve Witt and Paul Harrison, co-founders of NJT and The Travel Franchise, will talk about their vision for the future, announce new hires to their senior management team and create a ‘Consultant Forum’ of six travel consultants who will represent all NJT agents.

“We listen and give them a say and they can feel part of crafting what the future will look like,” said Harrison.

He said the event is not a traditional conference but more of a get-together, “a chance to spend a week together, celebrating our success and recognition, along with company updates, new initiatives, and enhanced systems and technology – all while partying for the week and rekindling friendships”.

Delegates will be joined by 20 key trade partners, said Harrison, adding: “Our business is very much based on relationships which has been the key to our success and why so few people leave us.

“Events like this are the foundation on which our company is built.”

Following the Platinum Get-together, the company will hold two ‘Elite Experience’ international retreats, with 30 agents at each training event in September.

One will be led by Harrison in Mauritius in partnership with Beachcomber, with other led by Witt in Jamaica with Sandals.

“We coach them in small groups and give them strategies to build a long-term business,” explained Witt.

“It’s not all about being a travel agent, as most have got to grips with this by now. It is more based around business, personal development and building strategically for the future.”

The Elite Experiences are included as part of the Elite package fee.
