Saga Cruises launches first nine winter 2025 ocean itineraries

Over-50s specialist Saga Cruises has launched its first nine all-inclusive winter 2025 ocean cruises, including one of its longest-ever offerings with a 49-night itinerary.

It has also extended its chauffeur service to nationwide for 2025. The cruise line is extending the range of the service from 250 miles in 2023, to 300 miles in 2024 and then to nationwide in 2025 on a shared car basis.

Nigel Blanks, chief executive of Saga Cruises, said: “These first nine all-inclusive cruises will visit some of our most popular cruise destinations including the Canary Islands, Norway, and the Mediterranean, and we’re also excited to launch one of our longest itineraries to date at 49 nights, to the Caribbean islands and Central America, which we believe will prove incredibly popular.”

The new 49-night Caribbean and Central America cruise departs from Portsmouth on January 6, 2025, on Spirit of Discovery (pictured).

It starts with a transatlantic crossing via Madeira and then visits St Lucia, Barbados, Bequia, Willemstad and Oranjestad.

In Central America, it visits Cartagena, Colón, Puerto Limón, Honduras, Belize City and Progreso, with access to the Yucutan sites such as Chichen Itza, before heading through the Gulf of Mexico to Galveston in Texas with a chance to see the Houston Space Centre.

From there, it visits New Orleans and Miami, then home via Bermuda and the Azores.

Prices start from £15,120, based on two sharing.

Other itineraries on Spirit of Discovery include the 16-night Norway and the Northern Lights, departing Portsmouth on February 24, 2025; Springtime in the Canaries; and The Western Mediterranean and Italian Riviera.

Sister ship Spirit of Adventure’s 2025 cruises include Canary Island Hopping, from January 5, 2025; Legends of the Eastern Mediterranean; Casablanca and the Canaries; Croatia and the Treasures of the Adriatic and Portugal and the Tropical Azores.
