Scenic Group reports ‘surge’ in group bookings

Scenic Group has reported 85% year-on-year growth in group bookings through the trade for January to July 2024.

In line with this trend, the parent of Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises has introduced two exclusive offers for group tour itineraries in late 2024 and early 2025.

The five-night Christmas Time on the Danube sailing is priced from £1,249 and incorporates a £50 per person discount on group bookings of five cabins or more, plus a drinks package.

The sailing departs on December 18, 2024, and travels through Budapest and Bratislava before finishing at the Christmas markets in Vienna.

The eight-night Windmills, Tulips and Belgian Delights voyage costs from £1,999 per person and now has a £150 per person discount on group bookings of five cabins or more.

The trip has seven departure dates between April 2 and 30, 2025, and is a round-trip from Amsterdam stopping in towns en route to Antwerp.

Nick Hughes, Scenic Group director of sales, partnerships and strategic growth, said: “The growth in popularity of group bookings is positive news for us as a luxury cruise operator and for agents as it is a real opportunity to drive those higher-revenue, bigger-group bookings, capture a greater share of the more non-discretionary spend market where customers are willing to spend more for a more luxurious, memorable holiday experience and extend our offer to a wider customer base.

“We have developed a series of group offers for some of our more popular sailings to enable agents to capitalise on this trend with bookings from now right the way through to early 2025, for guests who are already planning bigger cruise holidays for next year.”
