Solmar Villas appoints Ricky Watson as new product and purchasing director
First of five directors named as villa specialist targets significant growth

Solmar Villas has appointed Olympic Holidays head of product and purchasing Ricky Watson as one of its five new directors.
Watson will start in the new role of product and purchasing director at the villa specialist at the end of October as the company targets significant expansion over the next three years.
He will be responsible for strategy, development and growth of Solmar Villas’ product portfolio.
Managing director Julie Blake said: “We are delighted for Ricky to be joining Solmar as our product and purchasing director. Ricky’s appointment demonstrates Solmar’s continuing drive for growth and ability to attract the industry’s highest regarding talent.”
Watson has worked at Olympic since 2018,and was responsible for helping to put together a strategy to move the business from a traditional charter tour operator model to become a more specialist operator, and previously worked for both dnata Travel and Tui as general manager of purchasing.
He said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Solmar Villas at such an exciting time in the company’s journey and look forward to being strategically involved in the further evolution and growth of the business.”
The business has also recruited a commercial director, who has yet to be named, and is looking for a sales and marketing director, operations director and finance director.
