From June 6 to June 13, 2025, New Hamlet hosted a Wellbeing in Body & Mind Retreat, one of our big retreats this summer.
Thay has often taught us that “To attain well-being, we need to take care not only of our bodies but also of our minds. Mindfulness practice is central to seeing the interdependence of mind and body.”
During this week, we enjoyed focusing on cultivating wellbeing in our body and mind through the practices of sitting and walking meditation, mindful exercises, hiking, and deep relaxation. We nourished ourselves with Dharma talks about the Four Nutriments, Mindful Consumption, the Noble Eightfold Path and the Four Noble Truths, as well as presentations on trauma-informed mindfulness and the practice of Beginning Anew.
We benefited from mindful eating: eating oil-free and sugar-free food that was cooked with love by the Sisters. Through the practices of Dharma sharing and mindful service in families, we were able to savor the connection with spiritual friends and the collective energy of our beloved community.
We invite you to enjoy some of these precious moments in this photo album.
